SUPER WHY is not a free app, and in fact, there is a price difference between the iPad version and the iPhone version.  For $3.99 at the most, your child has access to letter sounds, rhyming, spelling and storytelling.  This program kept great data on how much even a few episodes improved reading scores.  Amazing.
